Basic engineering is normally performed to set up the fundamental design parameters so that the system concept and the design basis & criteria are fixed.
This step includes confirmation of the design basis, basic DWGs, long lead items preliminary MTOs & datasheets and specifications for all equipment & bulk materials.

The detailed engineering phase is when the design is developed to a point where the technical input for all procurement and construction tendering can be defined in sufficient detail.

This stage includes confirmation requirements on more specific information for development of the design which was performed in basic engineering stage and DWGs in sufficient detail for all disciplines.

In detailed engineering, it is necessary to do all the analysis to verify and confirm the design integrity. Design through basic engineering and detailed engineering are performed to prepare all layouts, general arrangements, drawings, MTOs, TBEs and isometrics for documentation goods for construction.

OCEANUS has the right facilities and software which can be used to perform the necessary analysis and design for the project.

Through these steps, issuance of AFC(Approved for Construction) documents is one of the main outputs in detailed engineering. The preparation of procurement is fully performed as well at this stage with certain documents such as TBE, MR, etc.


The long-lead or critical equipment/materials which will be based on detail engineering activities will be procured at the location of the engineering department.

OCEANUS will mobilize the number of personnel (including the key person for procurement) for the procurement activities, coordination and liaison with client through Project Management Team at site. This team assures continuous vendor performance in accordance with the established project schedule and performs liaison work, internally and externally between various engineering disciplines and procurement schedule.
